New title: President and CEO, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Health System
Slavin will take the role on October 1, according to a July 2 release.
The executive joins the Los Angeles-based health system after serving in a variety of healthcare roles, including as president of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from 2003 to 2021, where he expanded the hospital’s research funding, workforce development and fundraising.
Most recently, Slavin served as an advisor for a variety of healthcare companies, including Perry Health and Tredence, according to his LinkedIn. He also served as a board member for Amwell.
Slavin replaces Thomas Priselac, who is retiring after 45 years with the health system.
Cedar-Sinai is a nonprofit health system with more than 40 locations, according to its website. The health system has a stable outlook, as rated by credit rating agency Fitch Ratings.
